Be my baby

è bellissimo perdersi in quest' incantesimo
Tutti i muscoli del corpo
pronti per l' accoppiamento
nel Giappone delle geishe
si abbandonano all'amore.
è bellissimo perdersi in quest'incantesimo
è bellissimo perdersi in quest'incantesimo.
(F. Battiato)

Important correction: I was told to remove the direct links for downloading songs, because that involves copyright infringement. Unfortunately I knew it, but I was just hoping to get caught later...Sorry, guys!

James Murphy's back

Photo: taken by me.

He promised a more soul-like album, James Murphy, the frontman of Lcd Soundsystem, and finally arrives "Drunk Girls": the first track of the new album. Almost four minutes anticipating the next album, currently untitled, (which will probably be the last for the U.S. band) that Lcd Soundsystem will realease next May 17.
The title may seem just another song about groupies or wild "one night stands" hunting in clubs, but we're talking about James Murphy, so the explanation must be definately different: "The track is about drunk people making funny things but it speaks in fact of all the boys who have registered with me in Los Angeles. Our chef called us 'the girls'. And we were the ladies of the house!".

Finally, I made it!
I managed to put in each post the link to the audio file of the song that I'm presenting! Thanks to this, you can simply click on the link and download the song that I'm talking about in the post! Way to go!!!
From now on, day after day, I will incorporate into each old post the missing links, so as to ensure that everyone who told me that can't find the songs that I present, could feel satisfied!

In this post, I'm gong to present the new single of one of the most important band of the contemporary rock 'n roll scene: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC). Their sound is definitely recognizable; the thundering drums, the "snarl" of Hayes and Been alternating at the microphone. "Beat The Devil's Tattoo" (and now I'm talking about the album, which has the same name of the single), after a series of problems with their record companies, has been essentially self-produced, and then released by their label, the "Abstract Dragon".

The wait will be worth it

Already proclaimed one of the most interesting and creative revelations of the "indie scene", Local Natives, coming from the East side of LA, with their album, "Gorilla Manor", have found the perfect way to express their brilliant and talented essence.

The new single, "Airplanes", is a contemporary ballad, with minimal and nostalgic sounds of choirs, and it seems so intense and growing also beacause it's dedicated to the death of the grandfather of a member of the band. Just listen carefully to the lyrics, and you'll get the pain!

Something you shouldn't miss - Give me some Air

Even if they're such a well known band, and even if their new album, "Love 2", is already a worldwide success, I feel that I should suggest it to those who don't know it yet. And I'll do it by posting one of my favourite tracks of it: "Be a Bee".
Doesn't it remind you of a James Bond kind of movie?!
I love it!
Air - Be A Bee

In "Love 2" there's such a beat, such a rythm that almost all songs are to be reminded! Let's not forget "Love", the song that gives the name to the whole album, and "Tropical Disease", which sounds so oriental and mysterious.
Air - Love

But the first single extracted from the album hasn't been one of these, but "Sing Sang Sung", which sounds so different and "childish" in comparison with the maturity and sound of the other tracks. Guess why?!

Exclamation mark!

Hey Guys, I've an important news!
"Congratulations", the new MGMT album is listenable online from the band's website: .
Do not miss the opportunity to hear all the tracks before eventually buying (or downloading) the whole album!
I've already listened to all the songs and I must say that, despite the non-uniqueness of "Flash Delirium", the album isn't bad at all!
If at first listen it seems nothing special, as you keep listening to all the tracks it reveals new sonorities and rhythms!
We could not expect anything less from MGMT!
Btw, the physical album will be released and available in stores from 13 April!

I love The Black Keys...I love their old style rock; it's something you can't easily hear nowadays. It's all about drums and guitars. And this new album is no exception...just drums, bass and the same great voice we're used to!
Sounds great!
Listen up to "Tighten Up", the first single extracted from "Brothers".

Just to help those who don't know The Black Keys and what music they play, I post the song that I like the most:

It's time for hard choices

My beloved Florence + The Machine decided to give "Dog Days Are Over" a brand new video, a more fashionable one, a more modern one, more suitable to be presented at the Brit Awards.
The new video is directed by Georgie Greville and Geremy Jasper, but even if it's absolutely fantastic, I think it's almost too modern and conceptual, while the first one was really colorful and "storytelling".
And you? What do you think?!

And here's the old one:

Oh God, I think I must retract; the new video is phantasmagorical, too!

"Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father,
run for your children, for your sisters and brothers,
leave all your love and your longing behind,

you can't carry it with you, if you want to survive"

Rockful thoughts on air!

"Well sometimes, I think i'm bigger than the sound!"

Last Tuesday, thanks to a friend of mine who follows my blog and apparently enjoys it, MY BLOG WENT ON THE RADIO! It's been really exciting!
Thanks for following!

Such a demential video... such a great album!
Hot Chip's new album is so much fun!

Its name's "One Life Stand" and was released digitally on 1 February 2010, while the physical album was released on 8 February 2010 in the UK and in the US one day later, on 9 February 2010.
The first single from the album, "One Life Stand", was also released digitally, at the end of November, but some days ago has been released a new single (with a new video, of course): "I Feel Better". The song, actually, is not such a big deal, but the video is so demential that I couldn't stop me from posting it!
The first time I saw it I thought it was a different band from the Hot Chip I used to know, who are such a bunch of nerds, so far from toned bodies and boyband manners!
Check it out!
Hot Chip - I Feel Better

And check also out the first single from the album, "One Life Stand".

Dog days are over

Let's go skiing!!!

Bye bye guys! See you on monday!
I leave you with such a wonderful new song: Lonski & Classen - The Punisher.
What a video! It's extraordinary!

Since I'm leaving for few days, I'm going to post some more songs, so that you'll not feel that I'm leaving everything behind...
The first one deserves to stay here just for the beginning, which has such a tender and vivacious sound...I love it. It gets worse when the two of them begin to sing, but what can we do?!?!

Primary 1 - The Blues (feat. Nina Persson)

And the second one that I've decided to post is such a discovery for the music business...everybody is talking about Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti!

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Round & Round

Bye Bye guys! See you soon!!!

Hold on

The song that I post this morning is just a cover, but does this make it any worse?

I absolutely adore "The Bird and The Bee".
And it's pretty easy to understand who's the bird and who's the bee. Check out some of their successful singles!

The Bird And The Bee - Again & Again

I'm sorry but I've not been able to put the real videos of these songs 'cause all of them have been made impossible to post!

Wake up, it's Spring!

I know that this song is not as new as the others that I usually post. And I'm also aware that it's not the first time I post songs that are not "latest releases".
But there are certain songs that literally blend with the surrounding environment. And now it's almost spring...what a scenario.

Oren Lavie - Her Morning Elegance
I woke up this morning feeling the Spring in my lungs...and the first thing I decided to do once heard this song was to post it.
The author/director/singer of the song/video is Oren Lavie, an Israeli singer, songwriter, musician and actor, and the video is realized with the stop motion technique.

But most of has such a scent of spring!

And then you let go...

The MGMT, whom everybody has loved and appreciated in their previous works, are ready to release their new album, "Congratulations", and they have decided to include a downloadable bonus track, "Flash Delirium", in their website (which is
Actually, "Flash Delirium", despite the fabulous name, seems to fail to excite us!
It adds nothing to the style of MGMT and does not touch those same strings that songs such as Electric Feel and Kids were able to touch.
Anyway, although I don't like that bonus track very much, in respect of MGMT's previous works and of what we can reasonably expect from them in the next one, here's "Flash Delirium". Enjoy!

Touch the sky on the way to the top

I can't categorize this song, but I guess that if I listen to it driving in my car in the early afternoon sun, it sounds good anyway.
Somebody says it's "street beat psycho pop"...let's trust them!

Mistery is at the heart of creativity. That, and surprise.

Mistery. Mistery is such an important and vital component of life and living.
You cannot surprise without mistery, you cannot wait for something without a touch of mistery, you cannot read a book without the passion that anticipates the discovery of a mistery, you cannot even love without expecting something misterious. Love itself is misterious.

Talking about mistery, nobody knows who's the girl hidden in the transparent film...
The only title that we have for this video is "b".
Pretty misterious, isn't it?

Remembering sunday

Somebody I know...

venerdì 12 marzo 2010

Totally unleashed!

Let's go crazy tonight!

Some kind of a beat

No bot...not a sad one!

Happy B-Day to me!

"When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile".

This song may seem a little old compared to those that I usually post, but I could not help myself from posting it! And, in addiction to that, I bet you don't ever had the chance to listen to it!
The Big Pink are an electro-rock duo from London, England. This song, "Too Young To Love", doesn't come from their album "A Brief History of Love", but it's a non-album single, that has been later released on "A Brief History of Love". Let's say it has been the single that made them known around the world.

Sick sad world

"Broken Social Scene" are a Canadian indie rock band formed in 1999 in Toronto, Ontario.
More specifically, Broken Social Scene are a collective made up of nineteen musicians, who are part of many other bands from the indie rock scene in the city of Toronto, Canada. It's because of their particular composition that we can hear so many instruments in their songs and it's so important the inclusion of orchestral elements and experimental structures.

The shadow proves the sunshine

You could wake up in my design...
You could wake up in my desire...
Did you notice your mind's on fire?
Did you notice your mind's on fire?

Rubies - Stand In A Line

(I love the rhythm of this song...)
